The colour of these shorts reminds me of when Edmund Blackadder remarked to Percy, "so you think there's a big market for jewellery that looks like snot, then?"
I re-fashioned these from a rather hideous pair of snot-coloured 3/4 pants, into a not-quite so hideous, extremely comfortable pair of shorts.
They look like something my Dad would have worn with knee socks in 1978.
I love the intensely high-waisted look of them.
They look so out of place with all the other gear I'm wearing, yet it all feels so right to me.
They're a bit crumpled as I'd spent the whole day in them, out and about, but I'm happy with my super-pants.
Things that make you go boi-oi-oi-oi-oi-oing!
I'm in a crafty mood - think I'll make some more headbands this weekend.
My 1970s embroidered bag, Madeira, has forgiven me since being mended after I overloaded her with way too much of my baggage.
Poor delicate darling has moods too you know.
You're thinking "Oh god, can't she keep her pants on for just one day? Just one!"
Well duh, course not!
I'm sure this fabulous shiny skirt was once part of a stage show.
My fave oppy, Aid for the Blind, seems to absorb these gems by the truckload.
It's rather on the large side, but I'm happy because it means I'll be sewing.
I'm really in the mood!

I've discovered that swimsuits make the best hot summer day wear and you're ready to get wet should you happen by a sprinkler, town hall fountain, summer downpour, puddles or any body of water.
Plus you can change clothes in a jiffy if you stumble across an exciting op-shop find and absolutely must try it on right there and then.

ReplyDeleteCourse you of all people could make snot sexy...
Think I am joking? I am snot.
Thank heavens you dropped your pants or we would have had to tell someone to take you to the E.R. and make sure you were not under the weather.
That skirt is Blingy!!! And I know you are gonna sew it up fabulously. I can't wait to see it's makeover.
You look lovely and what a gorgeous headband! Far better than my December habit of wearing the door garland for a few minutes before it falls and becomes an impractical necklace!

That skirt is totally delicious and I want one! I've stopped going to my local charity shop cause there is never anything fabulous in there anymore, just washed out Primark pish :(
I did score a rather fab gold coloured 80s cocktail frock at the boot sale today though, so I can't really complain...the vintage goodies are still coming my way :)
I featured you & the other legendary frockers in my 'GREEN' post of yesterday cause you chicks are FROCKING FABULOUS!
Lot's of love,
Jennie

I think we need to see the shorts with the socks - bet you manage to make that look sexy too!
ReplyDeleteI saw your interview and am haunted by the quote about making a choice. I think I've been delaying my "choice." entirely too long. I love the skirt. The leotard I keep telling you about is the color of the purple in the skirt. I snapped photos in it this Saturday...don't know if it will make it to the blog.
ReplyDeleteDesireesita,

ReplyDeleteIt cannot believe you guessed exactly where I was in those photos. I was saying to my phtographer, "Pople are goingto look atthese and wonder where the eff I am". I was in a gallery, infront of an artwork that is essentially, a bunch of inflated freezer bags. You are awarded 100 points. :D
I really enjoy your outfits, you always look great. I also covert your floral headbands. Would you consider putting up a tutorial on how you make them, as I would love to have one for my very own, but need some creative lessons first.
