It happened earlier than I expected.
Usually I can get away with avoiding swimming until December.
I tell everyone it must be at least 40 degrees for me to dip my toe in the water.
But yesterday, mid-spring, we awoke to a hot day and it just kept getting hotter.
The Phoenix, The Stylist and I went to a morning flea market where we bought a few pretty awesome bits and pieces.
Then I took The Stylist and # 3 Son for our first swim of the season.
It was wonderful to splash about without a care in the world, salt water clearing our blocked nasal passages and bleary wintery eyes.
Stinging our skin and shocking our bodies, using muscles we'd forgotten about.
I thought Mr Spaceman deserved a refreshing dip.
It must get terribly rank in that claustrophobic suit, what with the farting and all.
Love that post-dip happy face with the cute freckles:)
The Stylist couldn't wait to try out her new swimming gear, she's been wearing them around the house for weeks in freezing temperatures - "Yes love, the board shorts are very cute but it's 13 degrees. Put some clothes on".

Gosh the spaceman is giving me nert pipples - ooooooh errrr!!!
And because I bravely got in the water relying on moon-man to take the focus off my "hello, can you tell it's been winter?" bod, I reckon I should link up to Visible Monday.
Oh, I'm back in my woolies today (YAY!!) as it's a very brisk 18 degrees (haaaaaaaa!).
Happy Monday everyone!!
Love, Desiree xoxo

Haha. What are you talking about, silly? You look better than I do, and I'm in my 20's :p You look great!
ReplyDeleteThat swimsuit is rocking. I've never seen one like it before (no surprise here!! : >) and you are *owning* it. Love the shots of the little ones getting their first swims of the season. Thanks so much for sharing it with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteDAMN woman!!!! PHWOARRRR!!! You're a lunar-tic (hehe) for thinking your body looks anything less than out of this world!!
ReplyDeleteOhhh the little lovelies look so fresh and adorable!
It was 32degrees here (Sydney) on Friday and then... it snowed over the weekend. True story. Okay maybe not in Sydney but it snowed down the Snowys... and it was damn cold here!
They are fab togs (I say that as you ate a Queenslander). :)
ReplyDeleteThat swimsuit is amaze!
ReplyDeleteYou simply look great. I always applaud those of us of a certain age who wear our suits proudly on the internet! Pert nipples, indeed!
ReplyDeleteAww you all look so cute and happy. I truly do miss the beach.
ReplyDeleteRock on, saucy wench! Perky nipples INDEED! How outrageous! they'd be perky as hell if you were here right now; we had a fab Sunday too, but awoke to rain, and it's supposed to rain for the next 3 days and maybe snow....UGH.I'd frankly rather prance about in my togs in the summery heat, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWOOF!
Love and Lustipops!XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I can't believe how good you look in a pair of togs! I don't think I EVER want a photo of me in my cossie as brutal evidence of my white lumps & bumps! It sure was a rude shock for Summer to hit so early. Much better today, I might even be able to wear some polyester! Looking forward to hooking up in Wynnum soon! Xx
ReplyDeleteyou look great! love your spaceman xx
ReplyDeleteHurray, Neil Armstrong's all over your chest again, no wonder you've got pert nipples!
ReplyDeleteLooking fabulous, as always, in your wonderful cossie and sunnies. And the kids are having such a great time. First swim of the season, with many more to come, but perhaps not just yet if you're back in your woollies today! xxxx
Such a cute swimsuit!! I think our weather was similar to yours - a stunner over the weekend and now its cold, wet and miserable again:(
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lot of fun! I am kind of jealous hehehe
ReplyDeleteYour kids are amazingly cute :)
That is the best swimsuit I've ever seen, and one of the world's best bodies in it! Seriously jealous...fortunately it's cold enough here that I can camouflage under cashmere. Hugs from Paris.
ReplyDeleteWow!!What a great day!!It's so nice to see how my friends at the opposite side of the planet are entering in a summertime mood, maybe the temperature is the same here, but days are getting shorter and the sea seems only a faded memory..thank you for remember me how lovely is a day at the beach!
ReplyDeleteYou and the kids look amazing and your spaceman bodysuit is great!
Love
Hi Desiree, I've peeked at your blog a few times. You're just outrageous! The best.
ReplyDeleteThe spaceman swimsuit is one of a kind. Never seen one like it!
Wsn't it a shocker yesterday, must admit I had the air con on for a good while!! Look forward to seeing you later this week.xx.
ReplyDeletesob sob - I miss hot weather - I'd be happy for 18 degrees. It's bloody freezing again. You look such a stunner in your moonlanding cossie, tres glam, just sitting on the side soaking up the heat xx
ReplyDeleteYou look fab indeed and those are quite some bathers. No sunshine here, it's overcast and 18 degrees indoors.
ReplyDeleteYou are a gorgeous woman Desiree, in a swim suit with no make up and you still look great! Very cute kiddies too. Do you have three boys and one girl too? xx
ReplyDeleteDon't you look good! Better than most of the young girls around here. The kids look like they're having a blast.
ReplyDeleteYou've no idea how insanely envious am of you now! It's pissing it down and I'me wearing a coat over my maxi and leggings underneath in the house and there's you and the kids all looking radiant and fabulous! I could cry but I'll just perv over you in a swimsuit instead! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteIt's very strange to think you are having your first swim of the season and I'm allll the way over here, wondering when the heat is going to come on!! I lUUUUV that astronaut swimsuit and he's one lucky boy to be plastered all over that rockin' body of yours. Talk about begging for an Arse squeeze ;)
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend you look sensational!!!! What a smokin bod you got there! And I love the swimsuit.
ReplyDeleteYou look so hot in this suit, wow! Fall is now in the air and I will not get a splash until next year:( I live for pix's like these! Enjoy a bit for me won't ya ! :)
ReplyDeleteXOoX
You have a smashing body for any a woman of any age. It is so wonderful that you can swim in the ocean. I live in the other Oz and it is getting darn cold here. It was 80deg F one day and 40 the next. Rather like your weather only backwards. I hope you have many more lovely swims with your lovely children.
ReplyDeleteYou are more than gorgeous, and such a wonderful family.
ReplyDeleteLots of kisses, hugs and love.
