Having a ball rediscovering the winter clothes I've had in storage for many long months.
I have a rather unhealthy appetite for capes, coats and jackets.
Well, not so much unhealthy but a rather over-the-top fixation considering our temperate Brisbane winters.
The Stylist has strict orders to repeat the phrase "you don't need anymore coats" whenever I spring upon a gem in the op shops.
Fortunately however, this year's pickings have been far and few between so I haven't shed one crocodile tear.
Today I've joined Jane's first link-up to her Shiny T Tuesday and this week's theme is When Patterns Speak.
Not a lot of patterns to be seen apart from Saturday's mash-up, but I think throwing clashing colours together can sometimes appear as patterned.
This was Saturday's effort.
Sunday's child:
Monday-Monday:
There were plenty of patterns on show at a fabulous local indoor market today:
Escapee from the local monastery ... I found this mint velvet and satin 1970s Jean Varon number at an op shop last year for a couple of bucks.
It looks like a cassock doesn't it?
Thank you so much for your responses to my previous post, I'm stunned!

Desiree xox

ReplyDeleteGosh you are a sight for sore flu ridden eyes...You should be glad about the Brisbane temperate weather...I am freezing down here...Love you and want your Demonia creepers xxx
ReplyDeleteYour first outfit rocks my socks off x
ReplyDeleteColour, colour colour! I am craving colour in my wardrobe, after way too many years of working in retail (compulsory all black attire)my wardrobe looks like an Italian Mumma in mourning.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I bought three wondrous coats last year, and I live in SoCal, I totally dig the affliction - my great-grandmother was a Fraser from Scotland, love how you wear the tartan, thanks for the smiles this early am...
ReplyDeleteWowwwwwwwwwwwww Desiree, you are my very own inspiration. Having women like you in the world makes it a much better and colourful place, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs and besos

only you could wear that first outfit and then think it may not fit the 'pattern' prompt! I think i wanna marry you!!! can we have respective 'chats' with our hubby's and organise something please...or at least let me move into your attack and become your families dark secret hidden away! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThat tartan suit is freakin amazing. I love it teamed with those tights. I'm really smitten with winter too. I enjoy dressing so much more when it's cool. It feels more creative somehow. The 60's frock is gorgeous. You know my bestie Jess & I saw that Bogart picture last week, I was really drawn to the colours. I left it behind because I found another starburst clock!!!! I couldn't quite believe they had one there for $35! Yay to another treasure for my already crowded walls!!! Xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE that wool cape and kilt set - you look fab :)
ReplyDeleteNow I want one...!

ReplyDeleteyou look good in everything, not fair!
ReplyDeleteJumpin Jehosephat! Tartan cape and kilt and tartan tights - that aren't really tartan! I love the way you put the tights over tights to create that pattern - it's tartastic!!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way--especially when capes had their hayday a few years back. I love this cape SO MUCH and your layered tights are delightful!
ReplyDeleteI think I just feel in lurve with you all over again. Sigh. Brilliant. Literal and metaphorical. Just shiny T, utterly supernova stellar.
ReplyDeletemy brain started to melt halfway down this post from all the awesomeness I just witnessed.
ReplyDeleteyour patterns are scraming "This is FREAKIN'FABULOUS DESIREE"
ReplyDeletelove you!!
Yiu are so lush, I could eat you...with custard. And a fine Chianti.xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThe velvet Jean Varon is to die for!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm home sick and this post just filled me with so much joy - the colours! I need to look up this site "sock dreams" and find me some sweet tights!!
ReplyDeleteThere is A LOT to love here... *Gah!* My eyes are twirling with delights, so I'll pick a couple of highlights: 1. Tartan matchy = swoon. 2. You rockin' creepers = 'bout time. But really my absolute highlight is the Stylists huge earring for you. That is a Piece.Of.Art. What a *gem* she is, and you are xo xo
ReplyDeleteSo many amazing outfits, I can't cope with the extreme overload of colour and fabulousness! I particularly adore your first, dear Desiree, the punky sexalicious Scottish wench, so very naughty and Vivienne Westwood! Capes and coats are such delights I agree. As for that black and red jacket, it's bloody brilliant and you look unbelievably adorable beaming under your red beret! The Jean Varon too, such a find - all in all dear friend what a week of style and treasures.
ReplyDeleteOh my gawd, yes! Your legs go on for miles!!! Those tights...on tights!!!! SWOON!
ReplyDeleteu r perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteAll amazing outfits, though I'm particularly fond of the kilt and that black jacket! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteMan I wished I lived near you sweet.......I would stand outside your gate just so I could see the truly amazing outfits you wear each day.......then I would probably squeal heaps.
ReplyDeleteThe cape and skirt are winter perfection........
love V
wouuu, you're a tartan goddesss, dear lady, love your style so much!, that cape and skirt, that pretty t-shirt and fabulous doubled tights!, ahhhhhh, you're über-fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteand your doc martens and creepers drive me crazy!
besos & enthusiasm!!!
It don't matter where you live, it is impossible to have too many coats. That first ensembe is too gorgeous, I love tartan anyway, but seriously, beautiful! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteMarvellous! These are some of my favourite patterns, always love the way you wear them! xx/Madison :)
ReplyDeleteOnly you, Desiree, could look fabularse in a cassock. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Desiree....WHY, oh WHY, do we not live closer together so I could experience the wonder that is you in person??? You are a true artiste when it comes to stying an outfit, and a whole pile of SASS when it comes to rocking it. I am running out of adjectives so I'll stop. You're killing me with awesomeness over here....
ReplyDeleteCapes & coats are my downfall as well... plus the space to store them! All these outfits are jaw-droppingly fantastic as is the woman wearing them! Those creepers made me weep a little! (; XXX
ReplyDeleteSooo many fabulous things in this post. I especially like those tights with the fish net over. OOOOOOOO SO AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteVelvet and satin!!!! WOWZA!
Desiree, you are on fire! Such fabulous outfits, so many textures and colours and details. The tartan cape and skirt with the harlequin tights are an utter delight. Love that red/black jacket, and the Jean Varon velvet dress.
ReplyDeleteI must admit, for all that we Brits like a grumble about the weather, I like layers and coats and wintery textures. Mmmm, snuggly! xxxxx
All your outfits are really great but that wool cape and kilt suit is the best by far. I would like so much to have such a suit. It's the purest gorgeousness.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have said once before that I want a calendar featuring photos of your gorgeousness and spectacular outfits, except that a mere one per month would not be anywhere near enough. This is a much better idea: one for nearly every day of the week!
ReplyDeleteSaturday's cape mash-up a definite favourite.
Those creepers are insane!!!! I love all the outfits and the colour mixing... I particularly like the velvet suit though, very elegant!!
ReplyDeleteYour legs look a million years long in that first outfit! The black coat is rather ministerial, I was surprised to see so much black on you!
ReplyDeleteAs if my brain wasn't fried enough from the weekend but you've gone and blown me away! Those creepers are inmsanely fabulous and just brilliant for adding a blast of colour to the Jean Varon cassock!
ReplyDeleteI love the FREAKY necklace and your tartan two piece...dammit I love it all! xxxx
wow! The first outfit - the cape, says super sexy 50s lady detective, in the style of Marple but obviously but racier! Love the monk-esque designer dress/cassock - rather wonderful. You need a gothic house to wander round in. The silver glasses I always love and the creepers are just fantastic! I want to steal them!! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteOh holy cassock-wearing woman, I kneel. It's spiritual, especially with those shoes which perhaps float on water...? The FREAK necklace is a fave. And I can't get that cape set with those tights out of my mind. If I saw you walking down the sidewalk here I'd have to get your autograph and hug you. Then show you to all my local shops for laughing and then have some tea and treats.
ReplyDeleteOMG ! Too much beauties here for my little heart !!!
ReplyDeleteI love the gradiant earing your girl did and the yellow creepers are to die for !!!
And the "freeky" necklace ?!?!?! Where is it from ???? I looove it !!!
