Ow, She's a Brick House

She's mighty mighty, just letting it all hang out ...

I'm in an awfully cheeky mood this Monday evening, I'm wearing my fabulously tacky 1980s gold skirt, a David Bowie t-shirt from Ms Minx's shop, second-hand F21 feather cape, 1950s veiled headband from eBay, leopard bag from Dandelion Vintage, ostrich skin bag from a Melbourne market and VW Melissa Temptations from Amazon.

Tights Please have asked me to review a few pairs of tights for them.Yes please!
I'm wearing a pair of Pamela Mann one size fits all, black and white duo-tone tights.
Well, they fit, they're soft and they actually stretch right up to the crotch with no sagging.
Helga von Trollop and I both have the same problem: crotch-eating growlers that end up in tights with breezy holes in private places ... brrrrrrrrr!!
No chance of that happening with these, I have a 32" inside leg and they stretch beautifully.

Ooh 'tis a bit breezy!
Happy Monday everyone!

Where Did You Get That Hat?

Don't you just love a bit of a vintage hat?
Even if it's quaint, a bit ludicrous, or just plain ridiculous, as long as I love it, I'll find a way to wear it.
I adore hats, head pieces, veils and hair bands, particularly little cocktail numbers of the period from the late 1920s to the early 1950s.
So I thought I'd  show you my humble collection harvested over the years from eBay, thrift stores and flea markets.
Here are my cocktail hats, which have made the coffee table their semi-permanent home.
Wearing one of these babies always brings a smile to my dial.

The darling yet troublesome Peaches, who is constantly getting legless, is on the right and wearing my 1960s, vinyl, snake-print, belted trench.

Felt hats (L-R): 1930s red with grosgrain ribbon and 1920s burnt orange cloche, 1940s black with feathers (just seen).
Second row: 1950s black and white straw bucket hat, 1940s purple felt with grosgrain ribbon.
I don't wear these much as I have such a fat head:(.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. xo

Sweet Time - DAY 28

I'm taking a day out today.
I know it's a bit early in the week to go on strike, but I figure Monday's as good a day as any to scoff down lots of lovely fruit 'n nut chocolate, drink copious cups of tea and enjoy the spring sunshine:).
Oh and play dress ups of course.
I can't quite decide on this skirt from Bitching and Junkfood.
It's really short, but I like its proportions with the draped back, plus I'm a big fan of pockets and this baby has two.
I think worn with leggings or super-thick tights, it's fine.
I've worn it here with both Forever 21 granny booties and my Docs, hopefully to tone it down a bit.
I've had this 1950s lined, lace corset for a while so decided to bring it out to play and to top things off I added a thrifted 1970s velvet jacket which has lots of tiny buttons and loops, plus a peplum.  I adore the colour!
Forever 21 cream and pink floral tights, vintage and modern pearls, plus my "headpiece of the moment", a1950s veiled headband, also have their first meeting here.
Waddaya reckon?
Heels or Docs?

Hope you're easing into the week at a nice easy pace:).
