I owe it to these two fabulous wenches for inspiring me today.
One of my childhood heroines, the ever-playful Agnes Moorehead in Bewitched, and ...
the glorious Miss Simmonds Says.
I've been living in false eyelashes and getting busy dyeing this week.
Take one 1950s white cotton bra.
Add dye, salt, water, then stir.
Add bling as required.
I'm wearing the brooch Vintage Bird Girl gave me and a beautiful Frida necklace made by Tamera.
I'm also wearing half-lashes and I treated myself to Lime Crime's Velveteens in the colour, Suedeberry.
I bought this pretty 1960s cotton blouse for $1 from the Salvos before it burned down a few years ago.
I never wear it, probably because I'm not a big fan of cream or white.
Repeat process.
Be awesome like Endora.
Bless you!

Endora was the best thing about that show!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore your bright green bra and top--they are stunning and set off the pink glory of your hair perfectly!!
You know what I thought about which is too cool. How many lucky ladies have green matching bras with blouses? This could quite catch on!
ReplyDeleteThat green bustier is enormously fabulous on you dear Desiree, a total stunner! I've been dying clothes too, a 70s maxi dress lavender amongst other things. It's addictive isn't it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI wish we all could be as awesome as Endora.

I loved Endora! She was so smoooooooth.
ReplyDeleteYour dye job turned out great on both items! Yours is the second post I've read on dying today - must be something in the air. I love the green color you chose!
The acid green is great! That pearl necklace looks very familiar.
ReplyDeleteYES!! The dye job came out awesome! I actually just bought some dye not too long ago to revamp some clothes totally inspired by Clare.
ReplyDeleteI love dyeing clothes!! That green is wicked. Bewitched was one of the best things on the old tele growing up. I would love to be able to wiggle my nose and make things happen!
ReplyDeleteYou are so awesome. Such a style icon.

ReplyDeleteI watched Bewitched every day after school and I loved Endora's outfits (we only had black & white tv so I never got to see the colours) Hot pink and lime/leaf green are one of my absolute fave colour combos - excellent dye job on the bra and the blouse! You are inspired by Endora, and I am in turn, inspired by you - it's the circle of life ;)
ReplyDeleteI had a proto-lesbo crush on Samantha when I was younger, she's just so perfect. I love Bewitched so much. I really love what you've done with the bra!! I used tropical green too!!! It looks really fantastic, you have to wear it out. Especially love the parrot brooch, what a great idea - super glam. Get dying - do more, it's just so much fun! Love the combination of your pink hair and green top, like a watermelon - but not the same shape - beautiful xxxx

Wow, going to have to look for that shade of dye its freaking fantastic! Green *is* a magical colour, its the colour of the faeries, so wearing it brings you the magic of those mischievous beings as well as honouring the (they're earth spirits.) Et voila! Just like Endora, you are magical my darling! XXX

Clare is an idol in my books too. And I have renewed respect for Endora. When I was a kid I didn't like her voice...what a fool I was.
ReplyDeleteI gasp again when I see these closeups of your face - you are so gorgeous.
I loved Bewitched as a kid and was a big fan of Agnes! Love your homage to apple green in not one but two fabulous vintage tops!
ReplyDeleteYou look like a beautiful punk mermaid!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Tie-dying (or just dying) boring white things fun colors is something I love to do, and certainly don't do often enough! LOVE your color choice, naturally. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the best green ever, I'm always too scared to dye in case it all turns pear shaped but I feel inspired now! The bra is pure heaven on you and the top is divine. Bewitched was one of my favorite programmes growing up although I could never understand the appeal of gormless darryl or was it darren?
