Maybe a Trip to the Outback Will Help With This Little Phase I'm Going Through

It must have been about 17 years ago I watched a certain movie with a pair of wowsers (party poopers) who were shocked and stunned at what they saw.
What a shame for them.
This week I watched that same movie three times in a row and now I simply cannot get enough crazy-shiny in my life!

To whom do I owe the honour of injecting a super-strength shot of fab into my week?

 Miss Felicia Jollygoodfellow,

 Miss Mitzi Del Bra,

aaaaaaand, Miss Bernadette Bassenger.

1920s beaded cap, 1960s bikini knickers - Etsy
"FREEKY" necklace - custom-made by Phussy
Sequin top, feather bird on my head, bangles, feather earrings and Glomesh bag - thrifted
Sparkly bracelet - lovely Miss V
Frida necklace - supermodel Tamera
Pink sparkly necklace - scrumptious Krista
Green tights and purple fence nets - Sock Dreams
Shoes - market

I cannot compare myself to those wonderous wenches in the frock and costume stakes, so maybe I could be their wig-brusher, glitterfier and sequin-polisher?

Oooooooh and in other fantastical news, Spy Girl has been super busy with her sketch pad this week, I love this art work!  Thank you so much Anne!.

"Check us girls, aren't we faaaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous?"

Be brave biatches and knock 'em dead this weekend!

EDIT: YOU CAN WATCH PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT HERE.  EEEEEEEEP!!!!!
Mwah, mwah, mwah!

  2. I haven't seen Priscilla for ages! I really should watch it again. I totally fell in love with it when I was 17, especially the soundtrack, so many favourites. You look gorgeous - wow you're one bendy wench!! The double tights are gorgeous and the sparkles are wonderful - sequins are a must. I love how you add a touch of the flapper girl to every outfit. Perfect. How cool would we look in Mitzi's headdress? xxxxxx

  3. YOWZA! You are one hot dang momma and so bendy too, I'm very impressed! I used to be able to do the backwards bend but I haven't done it for ages and I'd probably put my back out if I attempted it right now, although I can't say I'm not tempted after seeing your magnificent display of it. Once when I was working at the pub in Covent Garden we were inundated by Pricilla fans on their way to a screening at the Prince Charles cinema in Leicester Square, it was fabulous!

  26. How could anyone not love that film, it's been one of our family favourites for years, weird to think it's as old as my daughter actually. Whenever it comes on I always end up watching the whole damn thing again. And you look beautiful as always, I left some sequinned dresses in the charity shop yesterday because I'd already gone over budget, but you make me wish I'd bought them now. Oh dear, I can feel all my good intentions to save money going out the window again! xx

  44. I remember seeing that film in the theatre when it came out and loving it. When one of the magazines that targeted the queer community in Toronto ran a contest where you had to dress up like one of the characters in the film, I made my own "Flip Flop" dress, and won a copy of the movie, a poster and the soundtrack! I think I was probably the only woman who entered.

YOu are a rather flexible minx, aren't you? I used to be able to do a backwards bend like that, but not anymore ;)

  48. Yes ma'am! I LOVE that movie. When they first started promoting it they used the slogan "Drag is the Drug" (I found this out via the commentary on the "extra frills" edition my husband bought me). I loved this slogan so much I painted it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thewhocaresgirl/4656330276/

    And made it into a tee-shirt! http://www.flickr.com/photos/thewhocaresgirl/6165718273/

  52. ERMAHGERD... I loooove this! Priscilla is a definite fave (I think I must have watched it at least once a year every year since it came out) - the costumes! The music! The fabulousness!

And there's you - in all of your exquisite, flexible, fabularse GLORY... table dancing and bending and generally being MARVELLARSE!

One day Imma come up there and plop on that sofa for a few days and make you dance for me on that table and bring me ice cream. Because I am terrible, Muriel.

    Love yer bits! Sarah xxx
